Joseph was furious a couple of times after walking out of the field during the game due to his displeasure with some things.

Alzarri Joseph, the fast bowler from the West Indies, was handed a two-match suspension for leaving the field without the team's permission during the third ODI against England, where he was in disagreement with his captain Shai Hope.

As a result of the altercation, Joseph took to social media and penned down an apology, saying: ''the incident escalated to the point where my emotion got to me'' and added that “I have also, on a personal level, said sorry to Captain Shai Hope, my team mates and the management.”

“To the fans, I would like to say that I have let down, my humble apology goes out to you all; I know that for many, one moment of thoughtlessness can spoil everything, and I regret the disappointment.”

Joseph was angry at a field setup in the fourth over of the innings in Bridgetown and started arguing with Hope. Joseph took a catch off the fourth ball and removed Jordan Cox, but failed to celebrate and just went back to his place. After the over was over, Joseph left the field without communicating and went to the dressing room, and so the West Indies had to start the fifth over with just ten players.

Daren Sammy, head coach of the West Indies, has strict standards when it comes to behavior.” I was outraged, I was shocked, and I said, ‘That behavior is not normal.’” Sammy quoted to TalkSPORT regarding the incident. “I said that we will be stumbling, but that is not the culture that I am trying to create. We constructively banter each other, it’s a chat, it’s nothing serious.”

Joseph began howling as his sartorial outback infused with class and splendor. He was stunned by Joseph’s appearance. He resumed bowling after 2 overs but paused once again for the rest of the sixth one. He ended up doing 2 more overs, casting aside the two bad feeders that came with him. He struck England with two more middle-over rounds and eased off, doing another three toward the end.

He also bowled England’s Colin Munro and Dan Mousley as he ended his final over. Joseph passed the 46-run mark to end the game at 2 in 10 overs.

"Alzarri's behavior did not correlate with the core values Cricket West Indies stands for," said Miles Bascombe, Director of Cricket at CWI. “Such behavior is unacceptable, and we have taken measures to ensure that the seriousness of the matter is addressed."

There is general consensus that Sammy, who was appointed as West Indies head coach in May 2023, is good at managing people and has managed to persuade a number of players, including Andre Russell and Evin Lewis, to come back to international cricket.

“I am used to having the hard talks,” Sammy stated, “But in a way that everyone knows the job that has to be done. It makes me feel good to see such in a lot of people who go there and gradually improve."

"We still have plenty of work to do, but it's one that I am very enthusiastic about."

More recently, the ODI series held was won by the West Indies 2-1 and as at this coming Saturday, a 5-match T20 series begins in which Sammy stated that some of the familiar faces missing in their recent series against Sri Lanka, including Nicholas Pooran and Akeal Hosein, are expected to be back.

“We have a handful of senior players who will return and were not part of the squad in Sri Lanka,” said Sammy. “Our T20 team is the most successful team we have and it’s the most consistent. True, we introduce some new boys to give them that experience, but we have always been very comfortable with our T20 squad.”
