The result of the US elections remains "too close to call."
• Trump says he will concede ‘if it is a fair vote.’
• FBI says impersonations of bomb threats originated in some states directed at the polling stations.
• Congress is also in contention.
WASHINGTON: The heated rivalry between Republican Donald Trump and Liberal Kamala Harris continues to unfold, with millions casting their votes to choose the vision they feel best suits the country, with polls suggesting an emerging victory for Trump.
The initial votes cast on Tuesday were as expected and showed a division throughout the country. Six registered voters in the small town of Dixville Notch in New Hampshire voted in shifts with Harris and Trump so their votes would be distributed.
Trump voted in Florida and arrived at the polling station at Palm Beach along with his wife Melania Trump.
Trump has been on camera, voting himself, claiming that he is going to win and ‘it won’t be close’ and even expressing his dismay that the votes would take so long to be called.
He did say though that should the people have voted fairly, then he expects to have lost and can concede victory to Harris and Kamala. However, these claims were followed again with Trump raising concerns over electronic voting machines.
"Most probably, if it is a normal contest and I lose, I will be the first one to say it. So far, in my opinion, this has been one.” Most probably, this has been the case ever since he hit the campaign trail, and Trump’s words were no different as he told the reporters who were present after he cast his vote in Florida.
There is a reason why he has won the hearts of his supporters. Trump’s campaign seems to suggest that it may be possible for him to claim election night victory immediately regardless of the fact that millions still have not been cast as it was in the past when he suffered defeat because he pouted too soon because it was quite a mess four years ago.
To lose, the former president has said many times now, would mean defeat in the country’s ‘generational challenge’ which can only be brought about by ’deep state other severe networks’. This goes in direct correlation with the reappeared role of the former president during the 2020 elections, as he portrayed throughout his federal run.
The opinion polls as stated indicate the candidates to be like two horses neck and spread down along the track in each of seven states that are likely to flick the switch: Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.
To conclude, the voters are waiting for the final decision on both of the houses of Congress that will be able to replace the aftermath of both the Ohio and North Carolina. It is noted that the House of Representatives is so imbalanced, whereas control of the Senate can be fought for by Republicans as they defend multiple seats to be hovered in the red states.
The National Guard is already in or will soon be in nineteen different states due to fears of election violence. One can witness Trump’s most vociferous followers taking to the streets and protesting in states like Nevada, which has been a battleground.
On Monday, a poll worker in Georgia was arrested for allegedly sending out a letter threatening to bomb election officials, which was supposedly from a voter in the state where the presidential election is the closest.
25-year-old Nicholas Wimbish had worked in the Jones County Elections Office in the city of Gray in Georgia and himself became embroiled in a physical dispute with a voter on October 16.
Also, the FBI present in the United States is alarmed about the emergence of two new videos pertaining to terror threats and fake videos related to voter fraud, these being the latest in a series of disinformation the officials predict will increase closer to election day.
The agency further noted that some polls in various states had received hoax bomb threats that seem to emanate from Russian email addresses. It stated that, so far, no credible threats have been assessed.
