AP Race Call: Republican Michael Cloud wins reelection to the U.S. House in Texas' 27th Congressional District.
On Tuesday, Republican Rep. Michael Cloud was re-elected to an additional term of a U.S. House seat representing the District of Texas. This is Cloud’s fourth term, and he covers a district stretching from the Gulf Coast city of Corpus Christi to Austin in the inland. He is a member of the Appropriations and Oversight & Accountability committees of the House. In addition, he is also a member of the House Freedom Caucus. Cloud is known for proposing cuts to the federal budget for the substates of New York and Georgia, which prosecuted the former President Trump. As the Associated Press noted, Cloud’s name was announced at 10:50 p.m. EST. as the victor.
